Yes, the colors, contrast and clarity that is possible - and more or less expected - is getting unreal indeed. It gets in the way of the content of the picture sometimes, too much nit-picking over Photoshop stuff...
One other suggestion! YOu may want to build a "bird mask" using the select color tool. and then apply that above the NI'd image.
This will some of the noise in the bird but will add detail in the bird. The select color range tool will give a semi transparent selection so it will kind of give you the best of both worlds than a straight select tool.
Also you could use Q and do a qick mask then use a semi transparent brush to select the bird to do the same things as color range select.

Can some one tell me which documents do I need to send for EAD and AP renewal. Also my EAD and AP expired before 4 months. Till date I have not used EAD and AP but now planning to use. So need help on that.

I have been trying hard to get an answer for this question without any luck. My corporate attorney doesn't seem to have the slightest inclination on this subject. I would really appreciate responses.
My case details:
Visa on the passport up until Feb 2009
6 year term ending on Feb 2010
Date on I94 in passport is Feb 2010
I140/I485 concurrently applied on July 07
Currently have EB3 I-140 filed based on Substitute Labor at NSC.
Questions -
1. If my I-140 case gets picked up AFTER Feb 2009 (less than 365 days of H1 6 year term ending) and is denied (God forbid!), will I be eligible to file for a post 6 year H1 extension? Since this is Labor Sub, the labor doesn't have my name on it.
2. If yes for (1), will I be eligible for 1 year or 3 years H1 extension?
3. Can I file for a new PERM at that time and get an extension based on that?
4. Do I need to refile I-485?
Please help!

I have one question that I will post here. I do not want to open a new thread.
I am inviting my in-laws and I filled their DS156 forms online. After filling everything, it generated the pdf file of DS156. In that pdf file, there is one section in upper right hand corner called "DO NOT WRITE IN THIS SPACE". Under that section there is a line (fill in the blanks type) starting with "On ______ by _____ under section 214(b) 221(g) ".
Now after generating the pdf, the appointment date was automatically put into this section. Example: "On 01 January 2009 by ......".
I am worried why they put the date there and the date was not there when I took appointment for my parents. I also checked my collegues parents DS156, and the date was still not there. It is Mumbai consulate.
Can somebody please confirm if they had similar experience and they got their parent's or in-laws visa granted??

I have applied I-485 for me and my spouse. I did not apply for EAD as my H1B is valid until Nov 2009 and visa is stamped untill June 2008. My wife is also on H1B, stamping valid until April 2009. I heard that if I apply for EAD the immigration officer at port of entry might ask advance parol where as if I continue to use my H1B I can travel anytime without any problem
here is the question - should I apply EAD & Advance parol before 17th to take advantage of old fees structure? or wait for the I -485 receipt or DO not apply untill my H1B is valid?

Just because you applied for EAD does not mean that you need to enter on AP. You can still come back on your H1 stamp.
its your personal decision based on your own goals/needs. If you intend to take up multiple jobs or your spouse wishes to work in a non-H1B type position, or stop working and then start working again without worrying about change of status (H1->H4->H1) then applying for EAD+AP would be helpful.
If you want to maintain a backup, you can still apply (an approved EAD does not change your status, you need to actively use it). Applying after you get the receipt might be better (since USCIS can easily tie your case together).

Yes she not current visa status :-( Thats why I am worried about her travel plan.
If that is the case she should NOT travel without advanced parole in hand. If she chooses to do so she has NO valid immigration status on which to re enter the United States and will have abandoned her adjustment of status application.
If she needs to travel for urgent family medical reasons if you can obtain medical notes etc you can go to your local office on an infopass appointment and try to expedite the process.

alright fresh from this incident. my mother had 10 yr tourist visa expiring in 3 months after her travel date. in the old days it was recommended that you have at least 6 month visa validity when entering US for immigration purposes. Following that guideline she applied for a new tourist visa of course referring the current one on passport. While during her interview they didn't ask her any questions and told her that its a go. Her application got stuck in security verification which triggered due to the fact that she already had a valid visa. Upon researching further I found out you are safe to travel even a day before your visa is expiring because once you enter the country your stay is based on I-94 validity and not your visa. Hope this helps.

I spoke with a 2nd level officer and came to know that my case is preadjudicated..but still not assigned to an officer and obviously the visa number has not been assigned. Is there anything I could do to make my case assigned to an IO in order to get the visa number and ofcourse the CPO?? Anyone experienced this??
If your priority date is current, you may try opening a SR, though not sure if that would help.

I am not sure if it's worth the hassel of trying to interfile. Since EB1 is current most of the times, it may not be worth trying to recapture the EB2 PD.

I hold a MS degree in CS and BS degree in Industrial Engg.
Now while I am about to file for I-140, I am getting information from various sources that my bachelor's degree has to be in CS, irrespective of holding a master's degree in CS.
Has anyone faced similar situation? How can I resolve this issue?
Please help as I almost spent 4 years in LC backlog queue!!!!!!!!
